This was the original beer using organic ingredients first brewed in 2001. There have been a number of changes in the recipe which has sometimes been down to availability of ingredients but thankfully organic malt and hops are more reliable and readily available now.
This is a very full bodied golden bitter with peaches on the nose and palate with a spicy finish. All organic pale malt in the mash tun and then organic First Gold in the copper. I add the bulk of the hops at the beginning of the boil but I like to add some half an hour from the end and then add the last hops at the end of the boil.
The Green Man was another of Cherry Burns Salmonds paintings - the traditional Green Man with hops and barley in his hair and beard. I was so impressed I had a t-shirt made!
